Massage Therapy
In order to provide our patients with maximum results, we also offer massage therapy. Massage therapy is a useful tool in chronic, mechanical disorders as well as new soft tissue injuries. It is often used in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments in order to enhance the quality and extent of healing. Indeed, massage therapy is the most important and effective supplemental therapy we offer. By addressing the muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues, in particular targeting any spasms, trigger points, knots, soreness, or tightness, we are able to achieve more complete results. Techniques utilized are deep tissue, trigger point, neuromuscular re-education, soft tissue mobilization, lymphatic drainage, Swedish, PIR, ART, prenatal and more.
Why Use Massage Therapy with Chiropractic Care?
Combining massage therapy with chiropractic adjustments and techniques can result in greater benefits to patients that choose to utilize both modalities. A patient’s range of motion can also substantially improve when massage therapy is used in combination with chiropractic adjustments in order to treat the patient’s symptoms, as performing massage therapy on tight muscles can cause them to relax and stretch, making for a better and more productive chiropractic adjustment. When massage therapy is performed prior to a chiropractic adjustment, a patient can go into the chiropractic adjustment loose and relaxed, making for a better and more productive adjustment session. Lastly, massage therapy and chiropractic adjustments performed in combination can result in a faster and more comprehensive recovery when compared with the benefits of one treatment modality versus the other in isolation. Often, the spine or other parts of the body that have been injured that are addressed in chiropractic adjustments may have corresponding muscle tightness that can be best addressed through massage therapy.
For all these reasons, we frequently combine both massage therapy with LMT Joan Wallace along with the chiropractic adjustments by Dr. Schneider or Dr. Kalantarov in order to allow our patients the best experience and recovery from whatever pain or symptoms they are experiencing. Offering massage therapy in addition to chiropractic adjustments is simply part of our commitment to offering patients the best evidence-based techniques to help each patient achieve optimal wellness.
